Harry Potter Moment of the Week [125]

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a feature started by Leah over at Uncorked Thoughts - with creative credit going out to Ula at Blog of Erised.  The idea is to get Harry Potter fans together and discuss our favorite things about the series; be it a favorite moment, character, magical item, spell, quote or object from the books, films or J.K Rowling herself.

This feature goes up on Thursdays, and is hosted at Lunar Rainbows Reviews. Any blogger can join in on the fun, all we ask is that you link back to us in your post in some way!

How did Lockhart add to the overall storyline?

First, I think he was important in being a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher that wasn't the baddie of the book. After Quirrel, it was a good idea to have someone that no one suspected of anything because he was more of a joke than a danger.

Overall though, I feel like when the team went to the hospital and saw Lockhart in 'Christmas on a Closed Ward' was the most important part. They found out some HUGE information when they happened upon Neville in the ward. While Harry knew his secret, the rest of the group did not know that Neville's parents were in there or what their story was. I think this moment added a lot to them becoming closer to Neville (even though they all just pretended like it didn't happen later).

How do you think he added to the storyline?

I love comments and read every one of them! Since they are an award in themselves, this is an award-free blog. Thank you though for the consideration!
